Avalon is a Native-owned accounting and tax firm based in the Phoenix area. CEO Kristina Haskell (Diné/Hopi-Tewa), founded Avalon in 2002 after acquiring 10 years of valuable CPA firm experience and receiving her Bachelors of Accountancy Degree from AZ State University.
Avalon works with individuals, corporate and partnership clients including tribal enterprises, 8(A) firms, non-profits and municipalities as a Certified Minority Firm with the City of Phoenix, ADOT and the Navajo Nation.
Kristina currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise as Secretary-Treasurer. Past positions include a Mayoral appointment to the City of Phoenix Human Relations Commission, former Treasurer and acting Finance Director for the Arizona Native Chamber of Commerce to promote economic development and the entrepreneurial spirit.
Kristina Haskell is a member of the Navajo Nation and currently resides in the Phoenix area with her son, daughter, and imaginary cats.
Kristina spends her free time reading (a huge book worm), and regularly participates in several running events such as PF Chang’s, Pat’s Run, Disney Runs and other themed running events (though she isn’t very fast, she’s working on her time), Kristina vibes to music like: the Killers, Vampire Weekend, My Chemical Romance and local favorite’s like Jimmy Eat World and Authority Zero.
